HOW IT ALL STARTED
Steve Atwood founded Designer Craft Woodworking 1985. He began his career in Lexington at the former New Holland plant as an industrial engineer. When New Holland closed, he decided to pursue his passion for woodworking and start his own cabinet company, which is now a family business.
In 1993 the company outgrew it’s land locked facility and moved to the current location conveniently located just off of interstate 80 in the Lexington manufacturing district. After several additions over the years the current 30,000 sq. ft. facility houses our offices and manufacturing plant.

DCW has been in our current location since 1993 and have expanded over the years. In order to pursue the highest quality and efficiency in production we utilize cutting edge equipment. As technology and equipment evolve over time DCW strives to stay on the cutting edge by upgrading and adding to our capabilities; utilizing the latest equipment to produce the highest quality products possible.
The Architectural Woodworking Institute is a national collective focused on connecting woodworkers, vendors, and customers while maintaining quality standards for designers and woodworkers to reference. Designer Craft Woodworking is proud to be a member of their Quality Certification Program.
