Type#12: Cabinet Fabrication Information

Oxford White Melamine Interior 3mm PVC Edgebanding 3mm PVC Edgebanding Blum 125 Degree Concealed Hinge Grass Zargen-Drawer System 1-1/2 thick laminated countertop with laminate countertop edge.

Construction:

Cabinets may be assembled in component units with provisions for field installation. All body members shall be joined by glue and wood 8mm dowels. Dowels shall be (8 mm x 25 mm) at all stress points. Cabinet backs shall be dadoed into cabinet body sides and stapled with hot melt glued at full perimeter.

Cabinet Body Components:

Sides, bottoms, and spreader rails shall be 3/4″ thich and 45# Density Melamine, color: #S411 Oxford White. Cabinet interior shall be Melamine, color: #S411 Oxford White. Cabinet backs shall be 1/4″ thick Melamine, color: #S411 Oxford White. Exposed finished ends of cabinet faces shall be surfaced with vertical grade high pressure laminate of specifiers choice. Exposed interiors on open units and behind glass doors shall be the same finish as exterior, unless otherwise specified. Exposed cabinet edges to recieve .5mm thick PVC high impact PVC edging to match as close as possible to the same finish as exterior.

Interior Cabinet Shelving:

Cabinet shelves shall be 3/4″ thick 45# Density Melamine, color: #S411 Oxford White, (under 36″ in length) finished two sides, and edgebanded front edge only, with .5mm thick PVC edging to match interior color: #S411 Oxford White. Selves over 36″ in length shall be 1″ thick Melamine, color: #S411 Oxford White.

Cabinet Door & Hardware:

Cabinet doors and drawer fronts shall be surfaced with vertical grade high pressure laminate of specifiers choice. Backs of doors, drawer fronts, and end panels shall be surfaced with cabinet liner to match the interior cabinet body color: Melamine #S411, Oxford White. Cabinet doors and drawer fronts shall have 3 mm thick PVC edging applied with hotmelt adhesive. Door Hinge’s to be Blum “Clip” Series 125 Concealed Hinge. Quality of hinges per door : 1-pair = under 34″ in height, 1 & 1/2 pair on doors 36″ to 48″, 2-pair on doors over 48″ in height.

Drawer Construction And Hardware:

All drawer bottoms shall consist of 3/4″ Melamine, color: #S411 Oxford White. Drawer fronts shall be as noted above. DESIGNER CRAFT WOODWORKING INC. Recommends that no cabinet should exceed 36″ of span and reserves the right not to warranty drawers over 36″ against any sag due to excessive span or load. Drawer hardware consists of epoxy coated metal sides using Grass Zargen System. Of which has a “Life Time” warranty.

Toekicks:

Separate base platforms shall be fabricated for leveling purposes. These are sent out in 8′ length sections and are cut to length as needed at jobsite by casework installer. Base material shall be 3/4″ – 45# Density Particle Board, unfinished and ready for application of finished material base supplied by others.

Countertops:

Countertops shall be a single continuous layer of 3/4″ – 45# (Industrial Duraflake) Particle Board substrate with an additional 3/4″ particle board for build-up to make a 1-1/2″ thickness. High pressure plastic laminate (.50) applied to countertop surface and (.50) laminate applied to front edge of countertop. Countertops shall have vertical master laminate applied to bottoms of top 3/4″ layer for stability. Backsplash and use no mechanical fasteners. Up-charge cost for backsplashes for pre-machining of backsplash for installation with smart clips to countertop surface and a silicone seal applied behind splash. (Per Details Spec’s.). Exception to the above would be if there were postformed style countertops that are called out in blueprint. If solid surface material countertops are called out, machining of this product will be per trade certification fabricator directions.
